Bed, Bath & Beyond: The New "It" Spot for DS Cosmetics

Monday I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond with my mom because she wanted to check out my cousin's bridal registry. I accompany her and find the store entertaining with all its home appliances and whatnot as usual. Low and behold I see a new section that was not there before. Mind you, I have not been in a Bed, Bath & Beyond for quite some time. Anyways, I see travel toiletries first, so I look around the aisles and as I work my way further and further down the section, it just gets better and better. Shampoos, conditioners, face lotions, body sprays, nail supplies, hair and makeup brushes and tools, the list goes on and on... and at the very end of the section in all its glowy lighting is.. the maaakeupppppp sectionnnnnnnn. With big bold letters on top "We discount all cosmetics." Of course I find that hard to believe; how can B,B&B discount their makeup products? I check items that I have bought before and to my surprise, it really is cheaper then Target, Walmart, and every other drugstore by at least a dollar. I pick up a few items; the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama gel liner and the Sally Hansen Crackle nailpolish in ink splatter. B,B&B now featuring its very own beauty section, a lower price then any other drugstore, a good variety of products available.. how could it get any better right? It. Can. B,B&B sends 20% off one item coupons that never expire to my house ALL THE TIME. I can finally use them for something! Other drugstores don't provide general store coupons, and those four 20% off coupons I had, made my day. So definitely save all your 20% coupons and make your way over to Bed, Bath & Beyond and pickup some stuff, it's a great buy.

First Product Review! Cortex 4 in 1 Clipless Curling Iron Set

I ordered this Cortex 4 in 1 Clipless Curling Iron a couple weeks ago and it finally came in today. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself when it came. I decided to buy this after reading many great reviews of this product. Many reviewers were very pleased with how easy it was to curl their hair and firmly believed that the same look could not be achieved with a regular curling iron. What really convinced me however, were the many reviews of those who have hair like mine; long, fine, and extremely straight hair, in other words, hair that cannot hold a curl for more than a couple hours. This has always been my problem and I have tried many different suggested techniques but none of them seem to work for me.

Inside, the box contains four interchangeable heads, the smallest being 1/2", the second is 3/4", the third is 1 1/4" and the fourth at 1 1/2". The box also includes a heat resistant glove to wear while curling as the iron can become extremely hot with a variable temp of 140 degrees to 430 degrees. The handle has a very long swivel cord, which comes in handy since you hold the iron at all types of different angles in order to avoid burning yourself! So you must be very, very careful!

Of course, I could not wait to try it out as soon as I got home. I was only supposed to do a few curls to try it out, but I found it SO easy to curl my hair that I ended up doing my whole head. I used the largest barrel, the 1 1/2" to try it out and I was in a word, amazed. I could not believe how easy and fast it was to curl my hair! On average, with a normal curling iron, it took me at least one hour to curl my hair with unsatisfying results in the end. The curls never turned out how I wanted them to be exactly, but I can say for sure that the results from this curling iron is exactly what I've been waiting for. It is absolutely perfect in every way, no exaggeration.

A quick trial run with the 1 1/2" barrel

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to my very first beauty blog, In the Eye of the Beholder. I'd like to solely dedicate this blog to all beauty and fashion items that I encounter day to day, but as always, some random posts may slip its way into the blog as well. I've always been into fashion and simple cosmetics. It wasn't until recently that I started to develop more of an interest in cosmetics and I'd like to share with all of you what I discover and products that work for me and those that do not. Of course, I may not have the best judgement when it comes to all cosmetics, but I'm sure another opinion couldn't hurt any either. The majority of the products I buy are drugstore quality, with very few expensive purchases because I am a recent college graduate and have absolutely no money to spend on department store quality makeup. Hope you all enjoy and find this blog helpful!
